Neighborhood stabilization activities are designed to reduce the negative impact of multiple foreclosures on the neighborhoods of New Haven. We try to proactively address the adverse effects of foreclosed properties, by developing models to purchase properties in foreclosure and preserve them for affordable homeownership or well-managed rental. The City of New Haven is launching a neighborhood stabilization program coupling $3.2 Million in federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funds with other public and private resources to address the blighting impact the foreclosure crisis is having on New Haven's neighborhoods.
