(PDF en español) An easy to read, step-by-step guide on what you should do if you are facing a foreclosure.  The guide provides tips on getting through the court process and has contact information for useful statewide resources.  It was produced by the Legal Assistance Resource Center of Connecticut.

Making Home Affordable Website to help borrowers learn about the Obama administration's "Making Home Affordable" Program for refinancing and modifying mortgages. 

Fannie Mae Loan Lookup Online resource to help borrowers determine whether Fannie Mae is the investor on their mortgage.  Under the Obama Administrations' Making Home Affordable initiative, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will offer flexible home refinance loans for borrowers where Fannie or Freddie already own or guarantee the Loan.  See if you have a Fannie or Freddie loan!

Relevant Federal and State Legislation

In response to the current mortgage crisis, Congress and CT have enacted legislation authorizing several changes to mortgage laws and providing additional funding to support distressed homeowners and communities. 


Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan The Obama administration's comprehensive strategy to stabilize the economy and housing markets.  Visit www.financialstability.gov for more information on all aspects of the plan.  The "Making Home Affordable" section addresses plans for the refinancing and modifying of mortgages.
